The Barge

The Barge is Grimsby's unique independently-owned pub housed in a historic grain barge moored on Riverhead Quay since 1982. This distinctive venue has become an integral part of the community, famously saved by public petition with 8,500 signatures in 2017 when facing removal for a cinema complex. We serve homemade dishes including oven-cooked lasagna and roasted beef, reasonably priced and prepared with health-conscious options in mind. Our beer selection features two changing beers and two regulars, including Castle Rock Harvest Pale. Entertainment includes Monday quiz nights with supper, and an evening jukebox with a rock-student vibe. The barge's afternoon quiet atmosphere and evening energy make it a beloved community gathering place with genuine character and heritage.
